SETUP YOUR MENUS

My Training Training Library Your Website Buildout on PageCreatorPro.com

Now that we have our pages built out and ready to publish and share with the world, we can setup our navigation menu to direct people to our new pages!

WordPress does not have a way to individually allow us to export our menu items, so they must be built out manually. Here’s the process:

  1. Navigate to “Appearance -> Menus"

  2. Click the “create a new menu” hyperlink at the top of the page

  3. In the “Menu Name” field, enter “PRIMARY SITE TOP"

  4. Click the “CREATE MENU” button

  5. Under “Pages,” click the “View All” tab on the menu on the left of the screen

  6. NOTE: This will display ALL pages including pages that are in the trash. Please go to “Pages -> Trash” and then “Empty Trash” before continuing. Doing this will help you from getting confused on seeing duplicate pages in the selection.

  7. Select the follow checkboxes: Homepage, About Me, Blog, Products, Work With Me

  8. Click the “Add To Menu” button

  9. Drag the menu items in the following order: Homepage, Blog, Products, About Me, Work With Me

  10. Select the “Page” button for each item and make the menu ALL CAPS in the Navigation Label. Perform the following:

    1. Homepage = HOME

    2. About Me = ABOUT ME

    3. Blog = BLOG

    4. Product = PRODUCTS

    5. Work With Me = WORK WITH ME

  11. Under “Display Location,” check the “Primary Menu” box

  12. Click “Save Menu"
